Manchester City forward Leroy Sane remains the top transfer target for German champions Bayern Munich. According to SPOX, Bayern Munich have opened discussion with top agent, Giovanni Branchini, over the possibility of signing the German international.

Leroy Sane is believed to be one of Germany’s biggest young stars, and Bayern Munich are understood to be keen to build their team around a player who has grown to be one the key players in Pep Guardiola’s impressive side.

The German international has been ruled out from the beginning of the season with a serious knee injury. The forward surprisingly has been out of favour before the unfortunate injury, and his lack of game time can be attributed to the impressive form of Bernado Silva and Raheem Sterling.

Leroy Sane contract will run out in the summer of 2021 and Bayern are ready to pounce on a player who has made it known he is not ready to play second fiddle to other established stars.

Bayern made their interest in the player known during the summer, but Manchester made it clear, he was not for sale, and Pep going ahead to state that he would be sad to see the mercurial winger leave.

If Bayern could get their man, it would be a great loss for Manchester City, at the same time present the German heavy weight to play a front three of Sane, Lewandoski and fellow German international team mate Serge Gnabry.

Sane missed the last World Cup in Russia, and it was suggested in some sections of the media that the player was snubbed because he wasn’t playing in Germany. The player hopes a move back to Germany with Bayern Munich will boost his chances to make the squad for next European championship. The postponement of the competition will also come as a good news for Sane. The winger has been injured since the start of the season and he will hope he can play enough games before the competition comes up in 2021.
