RANGERS START TO SLIP

Rangers retaining the Scottish Premier league title this season is going to be extremely tough after Celtic have taken the lead in the most impressive fashion recently.

Celtic now have a four-point advantage over Rangers in the Scottish Premier league table, as Ally McCoist’s men struggle to keep up with Celtic at the top of the table.

Despite having a very commanding lead at the early stages of the season, Rangers could not keep up their advantage. Slowly but surely, Celtic have caught up and have now taken the lead. Ally McCoist has said that even though it would be difficult to retain the title now, he said that he is still confident of achieving glory this season.

Ally McCoist said this after watching the 4-0 demolition of Hearts by Celtic. This was a match Celtic usually struggle, but the explosive attacking football has made everyone feel that Celtic are the favourites for the title this season. The latest online Scottish Premier League odds make Celtic slim favourites to win the title.

Neil Lennon has one of the strongest squads in the division, but Ally McCoist has said that the Rangers squad is no less strong in any regard. Many bookies are now distancing themselves from Rangers in their efforts to win the fourth consecutive Scottish Premier league title.

“Without doubt, there is a big difference between the squads. In terms of numbers and strength of squad, we don’t really have it. But I would argue the case that, if we could get a wee bit of luck and get players back that we are missing through injury at the moment, then I would take my chances for the rest of the season with a fully-fit team,” said McCoist.

Celtic have a narrow lead over Rangers when it comes to the goal difference with both teams having played 25 games each.
