Scottish League Set For Excitement

Scottish football has not seen the famous rivalries between Rangers and the other top clubs in the last few years following the relegation of Rangers to the bottom division of Scottish league football. However, Rangers have slowly made the way up under the guidance of Ally McCoist into the Scottish championship. This coupled with the relegation of Hearts and Hibernian mean that Rangers will be up against these two top clubs once again in the new season. Ally McCoist has revealed that he is already looking forward to matches against both these clubs.

The upcoming Scottish championship promotion spots will be one of the toughest due to the presence of these top clubs. Only two promotion spots are available and these three clubs will be going against each other along with clubs already in the division. McCoist says that it will be a great test for Rangers in their bid to get promotion. However, he is not fazed by the challenge and is prepared to test the tactical knowledge of the team to the limit. McCoist came under pressure last season after failing to progress to the latter stages of the cup competitions.

This was despite facing lesser known teams than Rangers, who enjoy a huge fan following. Rangers are once again expected to dominate the transfer window.

“It gives us an opportunity to pit our wits against two of the country’s great clubs and we’re looking forward to it. I’ve had a chat with the boys about what’s expected of us this season and how we see the competition and the games.
There’s going to be a lot of focus on this season and there’s a real anticipation. I can feel it, not just from the players but from the fans and the staff as well,” said the Rangers manager.
