RANGERS SUFFER KILLIE BLOW

Rangers could not extend their lead at the top of the table as they crashed to a defeat at the hands of Kilmarnock. The 1-0 defeat infused some new life into the title challenge, which would have melted away had it not been for this defeat.

Despite this defeat, Rangers have a four-point advantage at the top of the table. Celtic are in the second place closely followed by Motherwell. The 1-0 win over Rangers is the first Kilmarnock have managed against the Scottish highflyers since 1994. The victory has been made even more special given that Kilmarnock has finally managed to bring an end to the 14 match unbeaten run that Rangers have enjoyed this season.

Had Rangers maintained the unbeaten run, it would have provided the club with the opportunity to equal the 82-year-old record. However, Kilmarnock managed to score late on in the match, and they defended valiantly throughout the match. The 80th minute winner from Pascali was enough to seal the memorable win over Rangers, which also brings a great deal of excitement to the league in general.

Rangers had looked capable of running away with the title, but this defeat keeps them in check and reminds them that they should not be taking their fixtures easily. Rangers started the match extremely well, but were unable to break the tough defence of Kilmarnock. Even though Rangers had a lot of chances, they could simply not convert them and paid for them at the end.

The defeat has led to the questioning by the manager of the desire of the players to win the League title this season.
